Gifts for Him

 by: Rick Chapo

I?ll assume ?him? doesn?t refer to me, but still help you out with some ideas for gifts for him. These gifts for him run from the practical to outrageous, but all make good gifts.

Gifts for Him

And here we go?

1. Brother MPrint Bluetooth Mobile Printer ? A practical gadget, this mobile printer lets him print wherever he is from his Palm or PDA device. The printer is wireless and about a half inch thick and five or so inches long. This mobile printer will set you back $380, but look for rebates and specials.

2. John Cleese ? Wine for the Confused DVD ? A humorous take from the Monty Python veteran. Cleese takes you on an epic study of the finer and?less finer points of wine. Cleese covers how to pick, what they are, how they are grown and so on. A DVD that will teach you something and make you laugh a bit. Expect to pay $15 or so at most retailers.

3. Arcade Games ? Remember when you used to sit in the mall pumping quarters into arcade games. Missile command, Pac Man, Donkey Kong?ah, all that wasted time. Well, now you can buy replicas of the actual arcade games you used to play. The consoles are the same as you used to stand in front of, but now they have loads of games on them. This is a big ticket item, so you might want to look away before reading the price range of?$3,000 to $5,000 depending on the console and number of games you order.

4. Nomad Writing Journals ? If you?re buying for a person that loves the outdoors or to travel, Nomad Writing Journals make great gifts. These journals are tailored to activities such as travel, fly fishing, bird watching, backpacking, camping, rock climbing and so on. They come with or without a case and provide writing space as well as cues for writing down important information. A great keepsake to preserve their travel and outdoor experiences. The journals cost as low as $9 without waterproof case and $25 with case.

5. Bully Bag ? Okay, this one is off the charts for unusual gifts. The Bully Bag is a bull scrotum mounted on a solid oak base. Don?t worry, it?s coated and sealed with polyethylene. Great conversation piece and good for keeping change and stuff in. He?ll nearly die from tears of laughter. The Bully Bag measures, on average, 6 inches by 7 inches. Hey, there bulls! Expect to pay $40 online for this hilarious gift.

Finding gifts for him isn?t that hard. Just stay away from sweaters and ties.

What do boys want for Christmas?

Every year, there would be one particular item that every child must have. That would probably be the gift the kid would pester mom or grandma for. If the little boy in question tells you what he wants for Christmas and it is within your budget, then problem solved. That is the ideal gift for him.. that is, if it is not something that is potentially dangerous like firearms or anything inappropriate for a boy his age.

What if the boy does not tell you what he wants, or the gift he asks for is out of the question? What are the gifts that boys like that are appropriate for his age?

Kids basically like whatever they see on TV.

Take a cue from his favourite program. If he has to watch Justice League every week, then he would be thrilled to receive justice league action figures.

Personalized Gift Giving, a Timeless Tradition

Personalized Gift Giving, a Timeless Tradition

 by: Jay Stockman

The tradition of gift giving appears to originate from the Roman practice of presenting the Emperor, and each other with good luck tokens. At first these gifts were simple, such as a few twigs from a sacred bush, or a variety of foods. As it ultimately happens, this practice broadened in an effort to receive special favors or to impress, so that more precious gifts were given, clothing, gold or silver items. While most of this giving was done on a voluntary basis, history has had its share of leaders who did their best to make gift giving mandatory. By the late nineteenth century the simple and non-materialistic gift giving tradition had began to dwindle away. Gift giving had begun to take on a very commercial face, and was becoming a booming industry. Today, the gifts and decorative accessories market reached sales of $35.97 billion.

Throughout the world, many cultures mark their...

Practical Gifts Can Outshine the Whimsical

Practical Gifts Can Outshine the Whimsical

 by: Chris Robertson

Throughout my life, I've been fortunate enough to be the beneficiary of the generosity and thoughtfulness of my family and friends. Over the years, I've received wonderful gifts, some of them whimsical and others practical. Although I've appreciated every single one, I've often found that the practical gifts I've received have had a longer lasting impact than the fanciful.

Ironically, my experience is that a friend or family member who gives me a practical gift - like a household gift - often apologizes for it. For example, I received a new vacuum cleaner from my significant other for Christmas. I desperately needed a new vacuum cleaner, and he did extensive research to find the most highly rated vacuum cleaner in his price range. It was exactly what I wanted and needed, but he nonetheless apologized for the gift's unromantic nature. The apology was so unnecessary, but he repeated...

A word of advice. Try to plan your gift giving in advance. Don't wait to the very last minute. Last minute gifts would probably cost you more than you might anticipate.

Take a calendar and your organizer. Circle every birthday, your wedding anniversary, christmas and all gift giving dates on the calendar for the entire year. For starters get an extra calendar just for your gifts to simplify your gift giving. Here are some cool calendars. http://www.christmas-giftshop.com/2006-calendar.htm

Plan ahead a few weeks in advance. For each date, who are the persons you intend to get gifts for. What is your budget? What would you give that person?
